Our Specialist Flea Treatments
Our comprehensive flea treatments include treating infested areas inside and outside the house, including pet resting places. Our treatments include an insecticide to kill the fleas and larvae, and a specialist insecticide to break the breeding cycle, which prevents new infestations developing.
Please note: Insecticides cannot penetrate flea pupae – the cocoon in which the larvae develop into the adult. Even after a flea treatment these pupae will hatch. Mostly the adults will die shortly after emerging from the pupae when they come into contact with the insecticide on the surface. However, in extreme infestations a top up treatment may be required after 2 weeks.
Before the treatment: Please mow the lawn as short as possible and thoroughly vacuum the house. Place the contents of the vacuum into a bag, seal it and place it in the bin.
After the treatment: Avoid vacuuming or washing the floors for at least 2 weeks. This ensures insecticide remains available to control any remaining pupae that hatch.
Pet safe: Our treatments are suitable for use in households with pets, although pets need to be kept out of the treatment area during application and kept out of the area until the treatment has dried.
It’s important that any pets in the household are treated with an appropriate veterinary product.
End of lease flea treatment
We provide end of lease flea treatments as required by rental agreements. End of lease flea treatments need to be applied after the property has been cleaned – it’s the last thing to do before handing the keys back. We know moving house is stressful, so we are happy to liase with the property manager to complete the treatment and hand back the keys.

Flea Pest Control FAQ
Controlling fleas in the yard is a vital part of a flea treatment. Flea eggs fall off the pet wherever the pet goes and so any resting places tend to have a large number of fleas. So, all those favourite pet resting places outside are potential flea hotspots. This is particularly the case for resting places which are in the shade on the grass or in the dirt. Flea larva prefer these cool moist areas to develop. Treating these areas is critical to success.

It doesn’t normally matter about the level of the infestation, as with a flea treatment we have to treat all the likely infested areas anyway, no matter the level of infestation.
Flea Life-Cycle
Fleas can be a problem at any time of year, but the peak flea season is summer. The warm temperatures accelerate the life-cycle and the flea larvae survive better in the higher humidity.
- Adult female fleas need a blood meal to lay eggs (that’s why they bite!)
- Eggs are typically laid on the pet but they easily fall off (wherever the pet goes)
- Eggs hatch into flea larvae (thin, translucent worms, 2-5 mm long)
- The flea larvae eat organic debris in the soil and carpet and go through several moults
- When the flea larvae is ready to develop into an adult it builds a cocoon (pupa)
- It normally takes between 5 – 14 days to develop
- The adult hatches out of the pupa (rapidly) when it feels the vibration of an approaching meal and then jumps on board!
